ImageAPI 1.0 - RC2 with ImageMagick support is out...

ImageMagick support has been a release blocker on this module for me. My attempts at using the Imagick extension failed, and I finally broke down and wrote the imageapi_imagemagick module, and it needs testing.

If you have a working imagecache 2.x installation or use imagecache 1.x with imagemagick I would appreciate some testing. I suggest using imagecache HEAD with the imageAPI 1.0 RC 2.

I was wondering what your argument was for files being associated with uid's? Right now files beings associated with nodes, and nodes are associated with user(s).. In the online community sense a file can be owned by a user, but a file may also be owned by a group of people?? If the file is a first level object, then I guess it could be... Just want to get a clear understanding of the direction in which you're headed I guess.

Having a standardized autoloading mechanism in core makes a lot of sense when dealing with PHP 5 and objects, but I don't know how much that's going to happen in D6. In D7 we'll definitely want some central mechanism, but we don't know yet how heavily D7 will be using objects in the first place.

Inserting Copyright to the images

You can use imagemagick to put a Copyright text or any other text in to a set of photos as a batch. We can use a simple Unix Shell script at work. We use this to insert some foot notes in our images at rockville homes.

We use the method to insert footer text to images we use in rockville homes for sale promotions. Hope this help.

ImageCache allows

ImageCache allows you to setup presets for image processing. If an ImageCache derivative doesn't exist the web server's rewrite rules will pass the request to Drupal which in turn hands it off to ImageCache to dynamically generate the file.
